MAT Received Army Award For Software Fielding And Maintenance

TEMPLE, TEXAS, April 24, 2006 - McLane Advanced Technologies, LLC (MAT) in Temple, TX was awarded a $71 million dollar, 5-year contract this week to provide continued Standard Army Maintenance System - Enhanced (SAMS-E) related services for the Army’s Program Manager, Logistics Information Services (PM-LIS) office.

MAT will provide the Army with Standard Army Maintenance System – Enhanced (SAMS-E) program management, fielding and implementation, software sustainment support, program security management, and legacy Standard Army Management Information Systems (STAMIS) modernization.  MAT’s Government Division will lead a team consisting of: Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), Information Manufacturing Corporation (IMC), and The Logistics Company (TLC) with the majority of the work done in Temple, TX. 

“This contract is great news for the Temple community, the U.S. military, and McLane Advanced Technologies,” Congressman John Carter said.  “MAT’s work on this project will bring jobs and economic stimulus to the Temple area.  I applaud MAT for their hard work on the valuable SAMS-E project, as it will allow the Army to make much-needed updates to the Army’s inventory tracking system,” Congressman Carter said.

The SAMS-E contract consists of one base year and 4 optional follow-on years with the period of performance starting May 1, 2006.  “McLane Advanced Technologies is excited about the contract award for not only the company but for the City of Temple. It took a lot of hard work to win this contract. This effort should bring around 100 Jobs to the local Area.  We hope this is the first of many announcements like this we will be able to make,” President Robert Reeves said. 

McLane Advanced Technologies provides both government and commercial information technology and logistics services. With currently 80 employees and operations in Texas and Alabama, MAT serves U.S. military, government and commercial customers.
